First, let me explain my nickname- Haycomet. My name is Hayley, so when I introduce myself, people think it’s clever to ask, “Like the comet?” After trying to explain, more times than I can count, that the comet is pronounced so that it rhymes with “valley”, I just gave in and starting saying, “Sure, like the comet.” Some of my closer friends just call me Hay. So a few years ago I combined the two into “Haycomet” and it became my pseudonym.

I have written in the past. I posted now and then on the blog section of a social network site, and found that a new friend of mine also liked to write and had his own blog site. I mentioned to him that I dabbled in writing, he checked out my blogs, and invited me to write with him. We shared the same humor, the same writing style, and love for grammar. I finally had a “real” place to rant and someone to edit my writing. It was awesome! We were even co-writers of a popular Friday morning blog, Bacon Talk, where we gave a male and female perspective on all subjects from marriage to tree houses. That lasted about a year. Sometimes though, good things must come to an end, so now I have ventured out on my own. It’s a time of mixed feelings; I’m sad but also excited. I know it will be all write.

Yes, that was a bad pun, but welcome to my kind of humor. Please know I have a creative license and I use it (though my picture on it isn’t very flattering).
